@ Mike, You are right on track when you ask about making the modes stand out within their own personal sound. I’m working on a very details mode system product that will demystify the modes once and for all! This is something I honestly believe will help tons of guitar players have their “Ah Ha” moment when it comes to understanding the modes. There is a very specific reason that I teach the modes in the way that I do. It all starts with understanding the patterns first, then when the theory unfolds you’ll have the hardest part already learned and you can then focus on creating music rather than thinking about a bunch of scales instead. If you or anyone else is interested in this New Mode Course I mentioned, I would love to hear your feedback on that, as well as any other concerns you may have with modes. your lessons on modes are really helping me. I play all 7 modes pretty well but the big thins is I don’t understand how these modes take out their own unique sound and plug them into songs.I will appreciate it in any way you can help me out.thanks for bringing me this far.I’m from africa ghana to be precise

Great Question! The answer is simply No it would NOT sound Terrible… It would sound GREAT!

If you don’t have to use particle board DON’T.

All the Great old Marshall Cabinets and Hiwatt etc… were not made of particle board at all.

In fact any kind of good solid wood will sound much better that the particle board. This is guaranteed.

The only reason particle board is used today is to keep the cost down of there materials. It’s not desired.

My favorite cabinets are all solid wood.

Hope this helps. I would love to see a picture of your cabinet when it’s completed.

Hey Bob, i’ve been wondering, if i have a Mesa/Boogie Guitar Amp Head going into a guitar cabinet (4×12) custom made (not the brand custom) out of tone woods rather then particle board, would it sound absolutely terrible???

The very important thing I noticed is the metronome.
The major scales are very important because I realized if you can play major scales the rest is just adding or subtracting notes from there, the notes needed to play different scales maj. min. 7ths. ect…..
Im sure this will help with learing the modes!

They have been very helpful for me and I’ve incorporated your scales into my daily warmup routine (I’m not nearly up to speed with your metronome settings…working on it). Ive been wondering. I know marshall calls there MC series a full size cab, But i know its a little shorter. I want a cab with the most bass responce possible in this price rang. Would the shortness coprmise the pure bass umf of the cab? And if not im looking to spend about 200 to 600 on a 4×12, what would you segjest?
